The domain of sports has the vast potential to “better” the game of life itself. Besides promoting physical fitness, it lays importance on healthy lifestyle and helps in developing social skills.
This academic year, our students showcased their chess prowess in the AHESSN Interschool Chess Tournament. Vihan Sharma from Class IX excelled in the Under 19 category, securing the Board Champion title, and Yuvraj Singh was named the Under 19 Board Winner. In the Under 17 category, Nikhil earned the Board Champion title. In the Under 11 category, Tanuj Singh from Class V clinched the Board Champion title. Our Under 19 chess team also performed exceptionally well, achieving the Runners-up position. At the District Level Chess Tournament, Shraddha Nair from Class IV B clinched the third prize.
Our students also excelled in the State Level Yogasana Competition, "Yogafest 2023," held at Coimbatore. Darsh Kumar Singh from Class III A was crowned the Champion of Championship. In various age groups, our students demonstrated their mastery in yogasana, with Shraddha Nair from Class IV B, Aditi Bhagawat from Class V, and Niya Mariyam Shibu from Class VIII A winning accolades. Additionally, our school was honoured with the "Best School Award" for its excellence in yogasana.
Furthermore, our students showcased their martial arts skills in the International Karate Championship. Mounika J from Class VI and Paviksha J from Class II participated and secured second and third prizes, respectively. Shraddha Nair from Class IV B also stood out in the JSKA South India School Karate Championship 2023 at Kerala, where she participated and bagged the first prize. Our students also excelled in the Nilgiri District Karate-Do Championship. In the First South India Level Open Karate Championship, Koushik of Class VI A clinched the first position, while S. Sudharshan of Class VII B secured the third position, adding to our school's commendable achievements in martial arts.
In the AHESSN Interschool Lawn Tennis Tournament at The Lawrence School, Shagun Mohanty from Class XI and Kaavya Dutt from Class VIII A exhibited their tennis expertise and secured the third prize. Additionally, in the AHESSN Interschool Basketball Tournament at The Lawrence School, our school's 12 boys' team participated and achieved an impressive third position and Saanvi of Class IX contributed to our school's sports legacy by representing Nilgiris District at the State Level Basketball Tournament.
Mahira Hayat Equbal (IV A) secured the first position in the Second RARS Inter Club Meet - Skate Beginners category, showcasing exceptional talent and dedication in skating.
